欧稳德光稳定剂119是提高高分子材料光稳定性的一种物质。它能屏蔽紫外线光波，减少紫外线的透射作用；或能强烈地吸收高能量的紫外线(波长290～400μm)，进行能量转换，以热能形式或无害的较长波长的光把能量放出；或能迅速地使已经被紫外线激发的高分子激发态猝灭，回到稳定的基态；或能极为有效地捕捉因紫外光引发高聚物产生的游离基，从而达到保护高分子材料，使其免受紫外线破坏的作用。

Conventional light stabilizers prevent plastic aging by absorbing ultraviolet light that causes it to age. 欧稳德LS 119的一般添加水平在0.05-1%之间。须采用适当的试验来判定特定用途中所添加量是否合适。该产品与其它紫外线吸收剂和光稳定剂一起使用，表现出协同效应，包括低分子HALS（如OMNISTAB LS 770、OMNISTAB UV3853）、高分子量HALS（尤其是OMNISTAB LS622）、苯甲酸和紫外线吸收剂。

The general addition level of OMNISTAB LS 229 is between 0.05 and 1%.Appropriate tests are needed to determine whether the amount added for a particular use is appropriate. The product is used with other UV absorbers and light stabilizers and exhibits synergistic effects, including low molecular HALS (such as OMNISTAB LS 770, OMNISTAB UV3853), high molecular weight HALS(especially OMNISTAB LS622), benzoic acid and UV absorbers.
